WIP Hummingbirds #4

Some more progress on the Hummingbirds, well one of them anyways. It still needs some details and a bit more work, but its a start.

Hi my name is Tara Raymo! Throughout my school career I had always taken art classes. I was then introduced to the computer and learning page layout my junior year of high school. Once I learned the computer side of things I put the making art by hand to the side. I then let life take over and let go of doing any kind of art. I am now a Graphic Designer at a small children's nonfiction book publisher and I love what I do. My tasks include: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Children's Nonfiction Books, Board Books, Catalogs, Advertising, and Trade Show Booth Design.

I started feeling like I was struggling creatively and I needed to push myself. In 2010 I started taking some drawing classes. I came across the Skull A Day project and decided to start my own project called Sun A Day, where I created a Sun everyday for the whole year of 2011. While it was fun and I learned so much from that project, doing something everyday was exhausting. I thought about it and I still wanted to continue sharing my art. I started the blog CreativelyTara in 2012, where I share my adventures in getting back into art and creating. My goal for this is to at least post something once a week, if not more. It might not always be a finished project but I want to share what I am working on. I feel like it will help keep me going and not procrastinate. I hope you enjoy following me on my Artistic Adventures.

October Adventures

October has been a very creative month for me! I made myself a challenge to create 13 Drawing by Halloween and I surprised myself and completed all 13 by Halloween. (You can check them out here: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13). I am loving most of these drawings and I am looking to paint them.

We decided to checkout the Food Truck Invasion in a different location. The moon was just gorgeous that night over the river. Pictures never truly catch the sense of awe and the size the moon looks in person.


I came across one of these Marimo balls on Etsy and I just loved the way they looked. I started looking into them and what they really are. Then I went to the pet store to pick up dog food, and they had one. So I bought it and found it a cool home. Right now I just call it my little fuzz ball.


When I was leaving the house one morning there was an eagle sitting on the wire right outside my house. Then the same day on my way home from work I saw a bunch of birds on a wire.


GIVEAWAY TIME!!! For Halloween we don't really get any Trick or Treaters, so I usually make little treat bags for the kids in my family. This year I also made them for my coworkers. I made a couple extra and decided they would be a great giveaway. The special thing about these Treat Bags is that it features artwork by myself on the front, and there is candy and some other goodies inside. I think the best place to do the giveaway is on the Facebook Page, so stop by there to Win. 13 Drawings of Halloween #13

This one is a bit weird for me. I wanted to do some kind of monster but couldn't think of anything that was unique. I just sat down and decided to start drawing and this is what came out. I think I was channeling a mixture of Spirited Away and Where the Wild Things Are.
